Burial: Lived in Clay Co., Ind. 8-31-1839
Believe the J for his middle name was for John because Jane's death certificate states her father was John Gibbons.
Apparently Hamilton John Gibbons went by John. He married a Magdalena Beckley. They had two daughters, Elizabeth and Jane. I'm not sure what happened....if John divorced Magdalena or he died or ?? what happened, but in 1850 Magdalena (or sometimes called Mary) was living with her daughter Elizabeth with one family while Jane lived with another family....one named McFall...in Shelby County, Indiana.). Magdalena second married a Rezin Tevis...a marriage that must have been very brief as it was over by 1850 and she carried the name Tevis in that census. Then she married Reynolds Corey and they moved to Lee County, Iowa and settled in Augusta, Iowa (near Burlington, IA). At any rate, Jane married Andrew Noble and they had among other children, my great grandfather, Clarence Marion Noble. Elizabeth married Jonathan Corey.....her mother's husband's brother. She moved from Iowa to Kansas with Jonathan and died in Kansas. Jane apparently divorced Andrew Noble in the late 1800's or early 1900's and he died in 1906. She eventually went to live with her daughter Florence Etta Noble Painton and died in Muscatine, Iowa. She is supposedly buried in Fort Madison, but I have yet to be able to locate a grave for her.
