Edwin was born in 1610 in Wigorn, Worcestershire, England , the son of unknown parents.

He died on 30 NOV 1675 in Bewdley Colony, Lancaster County, Virginia.

His wife was Dorothy Tracy, who he married in ABT 1630 in England. Their only known child was Col Edwin (1653-1698).

1. He is called "youngest son of Baron Conway by first wife" and is mentioned in the Will of John Tracy, proved 1643 as residing in Va. where he came in 1640.

Edwin served as the third Clerk of Northampton County, Va. He is named in Fenwick's deed of 1654. He was named as executor of Elias Edmonds, Lanc'r Co. 1654 deed.

The first grant of and to the persons of the name of Conway, recorded in the Virginia Land Office it to Edwyn Conaway, Clerk, five hundred acres of land situated in Northampton County at Hungar's Creeke, bounded by Richard Smith land. These five hundred acres are due to Conway for transporting ten persons to his colony 1644. Then he gives the land to John Severn when he turns 18. Edwyn did this in 1644.

The next known transfer of land was in 1652 for 1250 acres on the south side Corotoman River. There are several more.
