Note 1

Josephine "Nana" (Hall) Presnell was born in Hughson CA to Joseph A. and Lyda M. (Foster) Hall on June 18, 1909. He sister, Laura Jane followed 8 years later.

Nana attended Modesto High School with Verda and Olga Presnell, sisters of Orrin R. Presnell, who she met and later married on November 18, 1925. They had 6 children, 18 grandchildren.

Nana was known for her wonderful dinners that included the best pot roast ever, along with her fried chicken, peach cobbler and anything else you can think of. People were known to show up at dinner time for a visit, knowing there was always room for one more at the kitchen table. Nana would always put on a spred for those working on the ranch picking peaches at dinner time. The usual workers included future son-in-laws.

Nana and Bomp were married for 64 years when Orrin died of natural causes on July 31, 1989.

Nana went on to live 8 more years until her death on November 7, 1996.
